‘Broadway’s Next Hit Musical’ opens at Temple Theater on May 1

DES MOINES — Tickets are on sale for “Broadway’s Next Hit Musical,” showing at the Temple Theater May 1-12 as part of the Temple Comedy Series, a presentation of the Prairie Meadows Temple Theater Series presented by Des Moines Performing Arts.

“Broadway’s Next Hit Musical” is an original improvised musical comedy created by the audience members. Abandoning the same old song and dance formula, “Broadway’s Next Hit Musical” is a new show every night made up entirely on the spot by five master improvisers taking cues and suggestions from the audience. What remains is a spontaneously funny evening of music, humor and lots of laughs.

Production dates are 7:30 p.m. May 1-3 and 8-10, 2 p.m. May 3, 5 p.m. May 4 and 11, 8 p.m. May 4 and 11, and 3 p.m. May 5 and 12.
