S.H.A.P.E. Fitness

Staying Healthy Active Positive & Energetic Fitness at Seeland Park and St. Francis Manor lives up to its name with the diverse program that Fitness Specialist Kristin Kahn has created. S.H.A.P.E. Fitness is specifically designed for individuals ages 55 and older who wish to increase flexibility, balance, cardiovascular endurance, strength and coordination. Kahn currently teaches 15 classes a week, including low- to high-intensity fitness classes, walking fitness, water aerobics and a choreographed exercise class in which participants learn basic line dancing steps and dances. S.H.A.P.E. Fitness also has announced its collaboration with Dr. Robert L. Bender II of the Healthy Aging & Memory Clinic to implement an innovative brain training program — “Mather All in Wellness” — at Seeland Park. The Healthy Aging & Memory Clinic in West Des Moines is a world-class center for the study of memory loss, Alzheimer’s, dementia and other diseases of aging.
