Skiff to host language development seminar

Skiff Medical Center will host a language development seminar from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in the Skiff Medical Center Inservice Room.

Speech therapist Ashley Panno will present on language milestones for children ages birth to 5 years – including signs of speech or language delay – and share tips with parents on how they can help foster language development at home. At the completion of the presentation, there will be time for questions and answers.

“Parents are the best and most important teacher and advocate when it comes to their child’s development of speech and language skills,” said Panno. “Children are born ready and able to communicate. This communication continues to become more complex and refined with age and we want to provide parents the tools they need to encourage their child’s language development.”
