Board of Supervisors to vote on new bridge

The Jasper County Board of Supervisors will meet with County Engineer Russ Stutt to discuss a contract with Calhoun and Burns and Associates Inc. about a proposed $1.5 million bridge replacement project, located along the South Skunk River in Elk Creek Township at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Last Tuesday, Stutt discussed a number of bridge replacement projects, and this will be the first of a long list of bridge replacement projects.

Calhoun and Burns Vice President Milton Clemenson recommended a new bridge be built. In a letter addressed to Stutt, he said the bridge would be “the most economical and appropriate replacement” solution.
