It was announced that the Golden Agers Club will meet Wednesday, March 20, at the Salvation Army Citadel for noon lunch served by the Salvation Army captains and office workers. All are invited to attend.

Sherman Sunbeam

The Sherman Sunbeam 4H group met Saturday, Feb. 2, at the United Presbyterian Church. President Christian Laube called the meeting to order, and Dalton Altemeier led the Pledge of Allegiance.

The group made plans to participate in Meals for the Heartland on Feb. 3 at the Jasper County Fairgrounds in Colfax. The group discussed participation in Relay for Life in June and Live Healthy Iowa Kids. Plans are pending for a horse show on June 1.

The meeting was adjourned, and Altemeier lead the group in the 4H pledge. Group members then made valentines to share with a nursing home. Kristen Titus showed the group how to grow tomatoes in egg cartons. Treats for the morning were provided by Dalton and Madi Altemeier.
