Newton freshman girls complete perfect season

The 1962-63 Newton basketball team wasn’t the only undefeated squad in the house Thursday night.
Earning a 31-20 victory over Pella, the Newton freshman girls basketball team wrapped up a perfect 16-0 record for the season. The Cardinals never trailed in the victory.
Coached by Tara Zehr, members of the team include Stephanie Hoebelheinrich, Taylor Moon, Jaci Reeves, Maddy Berstler, Sydney Jenkins, Victoria Jordan, Alex Hutchinson, Mariah Gonzales, Jessica Reynolds, Hannah Rhoads, Jessica Smith and Jaci Twaddle.
