The First United Methodist Church, 210 N. Second Ave. E., will have an Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The service will mark the beginning of the Lenten Season, which is one of the oldest seasons of the church. Pastor Gary Marzolf will give the message “Get Off the Stage.” The Chancel Choir, directed by Rachel Faidley and accompanied by Jean Ibbotson, will sing “Trust and Obey God’s Word.” 

During the Ash Wednesday service, there will be an opportunity to remember your baptism, share in the Sacrament of Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes. The public is welcome to attend.
