Newton freshman girls cruise to win at Oskaloosa

The Newton freshman girls basketball team moved one step closer to an undefeated season Monday night with a 45-18 road victory at Oskaloosa.

Jessica Reynolds led all scorers with 13 points, but the Cardinals (16-0) also got contributions from Taylor Moon, Sydney Jenkins, Victoria Jordan, Alex Hutchinson, Hannah Rhoads and Jaci Twaddle.

The Cardinals will try to complete their undefeated season on Thursday when they host Pella in the lower gym at Newton Senior High School.
