Newton Police Department

• Zachary T. Sudbrock, 21, of Newton was arrested and charged with domestic assault after authorities responded to a report of a fight at 4:10 p.m. Monday at 712 E. 12th St. N. in Newton. Sudbrock allegedly assaulted a 28-year-old male during an argument. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.

• John M. Neal, 38, of Newton was arrested at 11:20 a.m. Monday at his residence at 809 E. 10th St. S. on a warrant for domestic assault and simple assault. Neal was charged for allegedly assaulting 37-year-old female and a 20-year-old male on Dec. 25 at his residence. Neal had fled the scene after the incident, and authorities issued a warrant for his arrest. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
