Jack R. Gibson, 70, Hamburg, Iowa, long-time golf pro at Fremont County Golf Course, Sidney, Iowa, was born Oct. 22, 1942, in Newton, Iowa, the son of George Rex and Mary Louise (Hall) Gibson. He attended school in Newton and graduated from Newton Senior High School, Class of 1961.

Survived by children Paul Gibson of Nevada, Iowa, Stacy Gibson (Julie) of Omaha, Neb., Melissa Gibson of Hamburg, Iowa; step-son Alex Hollingsworth of Bellevue, Neb.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Marilyn Gaylor (Jim) of Polk City, Iowa; brother George Gibson (Sally) of Indianola, Iowa; seven nieces and nephews; other family and many friends.

A memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg. Inurnment will be at a later date in Newton. Memorials to the G. Rex Gibson Memorial Scholarship Fund. Remembrances may be left at www.gudefuneralhomes.com.
