Elizabeth Ingram

Elizabeth Ingram, 103, of Prairie City died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the Prairie City Church of the Brethren, with burial following at Waveland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Prairie City Church of the Brethren and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Pete and Maggie (Slot) Van Peursen, Elizabeth was born on Sept. 12, 1909, in rural Prairie City. She was united in marriage to Gail Ingram in 1929. Elizabeth remained in her own home until Dec. 22, 2012. She enjoyed playing her organ and touched a lot of lives by playing for country school programs, church programs, and also played at the Morgan Valley Church for 45 years. She enjoyed her gardening,  family, music, crafts, mowing her lawn, chickens and cats.

She will be missed by her two sons, Max (Nancy) Ingram of Osceola and Melvin (Golda) Ingram of Prairie City; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her two sisters, Margaret Myers of Prairie City and Norma Skinner of Mitchellville.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gail, in 1975 and two brothers-in-law.
