Rosalie Hinshaw

Rosalie Hinshaw, 76, of Marion, formerly of Newton, died on Monday, Jan. 21, at her home.

A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday. Burial will be at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg with a reception to follow at the home of Judy and Alvin Cooper, 411 Water Street in Kellogg.

Rosalie was born on Sept. 8, 1936, in Prairie City, Iowa to Richie and Mary (Waddel) Stamper. She was united in marriage with Bill Hinshaw on Jan. 28, 1956, at the Methodist Church in Newton. Rosalie attended the Kellogg High School and graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1955. She worked at Newton Telephone Company, Cedar Rapids School Administration offices and Grant Wood AEA, but she was primarily a homemaker. Rosalie enjoyed traveling, painting, camping, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
