11th Annual Newton Bridal Fair expected to be a success

First year that Bridal Fair will be managed by Iowa Speedway

The 11th Annual Newton Bridal Fair is set to take place Jan. 27 at the Iowa Speedway. The event, which will be held inside the Iowa Speedway Newton Club, is scheduled to be held from 1 to 4 p.m. and has completely sold out of vendor space.

There will be more than 30 vendors at the event and more than 40 tables. The popular Bridal Fashion Show will be returning and will take place between 3 and 3:30 p.m. At the conclusion, a grand prize of $500, which will be available for use at any of the vendors present, will be given to one lucky person. Prizes will be given out during the entire event as well.

Sabrina White, coordinator of the Newton Bridal Fair, said there are several reasons why people should attend the fair this weekend.

“Brides can get ideas from several vendors,” White said. “This fair can help them get started on their wedding. This will be one less stressful moment gone from planning. We’ve done all the research for them. And there will be more than one cake person, more than one photographer and more than one dress shop.”

The show, which was put on by the Newton Convention and Visitors Bureau in the past, is being handled by the speedway for the first time. White explained why the change took place this year.

“The CVB was swamped and asked us if we could do it,” said White. “We partner with them a lot, so we are trying to help them out, and it’s a chance to make things even better at the fair.”

Some of the vendors scheduled to appear include the Bridal Sweet, a local bridal expertise shop. Bridal Sweet is also putting on the fashion show. Other bridal shops scheduled to be in attendance are Bridal Dreams and Royal Prestige. There also will be four different DJ services, five different photography businesses, and Be Kind Videography.

The fair is expected to be a one-stop for any bride looking to get a jumpstart on her wedding planning. For more information, visit iowaspeedway.com or contact Sabrina White at swhite@iowaspeedway.com.
