PCM basketball teams go 3-0 in weekend action
The Prairie City-Monroe girls basketball team picked up two victories between Friday and Saturday, while the boys earned a close on Friday in conference action.
The Mustang girls (9-6, 8-5 Heart of Iowa Conference), extended their win streak to five games with a 53-36 Friday victory over Roland-Story and a 56-43 nonconference win over Pella on Saturday. With the Friday win, the Mustangs moved up to fourth in the conference standings and are just one game behind third.
PCM’s boys (14-1, 11-1) also extended their win streak to five games with a 44-40 nailbiter over Roland-Story Friday night. The Mustangs trailed 26-23 at haltime, then held the Norsemen to just four points in the third quarter and eeked out the victory in the fourth.
