Alice M. Ringgenberg

Alice M. Ringgenberg, 93, of Newton, died on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. 

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.  The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials to the First United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home.

Alice, the daughter of Clarence Eugene and Margaret Lillian (McCosh) Marshall, was born on June 23, 1919, in Grinnell. She grew up in rural Newburg before her family moved into Grinnell in 1927 and then  to Newton in 1931. Alice graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1937. Alice was united in marriage with Cecil Ringgenberg on Nov. 21, 1941 in Marshalltown.  Alice worked at Newton Manufacturing as an order processor for many years, retiring in 1984.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served as Treasurer for the American Legion Auxiliary for over 40 years. Alice dedicated her life to her family and she also enjoyed reading.
