Just like that, the Prairie City-Monroe boys basketball team is on a winning streak again.

On the heels of a nonconference victory over Pella, the Mustangs (11-1, 8-1 Heart of Iowa Conference) returned to conference play with a 52-42 victory over Gilbert Tuesday night in Monroe.

PCM never trailed at a break, leading 29-24 at halftime and 37-35 after the third quarter. The Mustangs then used a 15-7 fourth quarter to pull away for the victory.

Junior Dillon Bruxvoort led the Mustangs with 16 points in the game, while seniors Alex DeWitte and Nate Vande Wall finished in double figures with 12 and 10, respectively. Senior Michael Neff led the team with seven rebounds while adding six points, while fellow senior Ethan Kain also chipped in six and freshman Logan Gilman rounded out the scoring with two.

The Mustangs will stay at home and in conference play when they host Greene County Friday night.
