2013 Poweshiek County Crop Clinic on Jan. 21

JOHNSTON — The 2013 Poweshiek County Crop Clinic has a program designed to help local growers learn more about crops and provide them with valuable information, according to organizers with the Iowa Corn Growers Association and Iowa Corn Promotion Board. CCA credits are available in the area of soils, water and crops. The program will be Jan. 21, 2013, at the Michael J. Manatt Community Center in Brooklyn. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a program running through lunch and continuing from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. 

Featured presentations include an Iowa Corn Legislative Update by Amanda Taylor of Iowa Corn and Ken Ferrie, Farm Journal field agronomist, who will discuss soil health including no-till and cover crops as well as farming in Brazil.
