Vernon D. McClun, 82, died on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Skiff Hospice or to the Community Heights Alliance Church Building Fund, memorials may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please add, Attn: McClun Family on the envelope.
