Milo L. Engstrom

Milo L. Engstrom of Prairie Du Chien, Wis., passed away Jan. 1, 2013, two days before his 90th birthday.

Milo was a gifted athlete, World War II Marine, Iowa school teacher and coach in New Hampton, Lake Mills and Newton, and a carpenter, craftsman and fisherman extraordinaire. Funny, brilliant and tough-as-nails, Milo was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who worked and played with enthusiasm and passion.

He will be deeply missed by many, especially his wife of 62 years Ada, sons Steven (Denise), John, Jeffrey (Cynthia), daughter Susan, grandchildren Lowell, Alicia (Travis), Milo (Elizabeth), Michael, Jackson, and great grandchildren Kailey, Vada and Addison.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Prairie Du Chien. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to St. Peter’s in Milo’s name.
