Joey D. Stevens, 45, of Kellogg died on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Moose Lodge in Newton. There will be a time to greet the family following the service. Memorials in Joey’s name may be left at the Moose Lodge.

Joe, the son of Dale and Rebecca (Hawkins) Stevens, was born on Nov. 17, 1967, in Iowa City.  He was united in marriage with Mary Petrie on April 19, 1997 in Newton.  Joe worked in the factory at both Pella Corp and United Mcgill. He enjoyed working with his hands including woodworking and refurbishing lamps.  Joe also collected boxes of all shapes, sizes, and colors. 

Those left to honor Joe’s memory are his wife, Mary of Kellogg; son, Jordan (Karen) Stevens of Deep River and Skylyss Stevens of Kellogg; his mother, Rebecca Schafer of Newton; sister, Jennifer (Bob) Bruns of Colfax; brother, Tony (Penny) Stevens of Newton; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Stevens in April of 2012; brother, Tim Stevens on Dec. 9, 2012; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
