Because of the lingering effects of Wednesday night’s snowfall, all athletic events in Jasper County scheduled for Friday have been postponed.
Tonight’s slate included boys and girls basketball games in-county for Newton, Prairie City-Monroe, Collins-Maxwell-Baxter and Colfax-Mingo, while Lynnville-Sully was scheduled to be on the road.
Originally scheduled for tonight, Newton’s basketball games against Knoxville and the ceremony for the 1962-63 Newton state basketball champions have been rescheduled for Feb. 7 with the same time schedule as originally planned. Newton’s postponed Thursday basketball games against Bondurant-Farrar have been rescheduled for Jan. 17.
