On Thursday, Advantage Credit Union, located at 121 W. Third St. N. in Newton, will celebrate 75 years in business. The Credit Union will have an open house, and ACU marketing director Mike Farley is excited for the event.

“Anyone who wants to come can,” Farley said.

ACU will provide Little Caesar’s Pizza, anniversary cake and beverages all day and will be giving away prizes, including a $75 Visa gift card. ACU has had more then 5,300 members. In the beginning, ACU had members-owners who used their own money so members could borrow.

President and CEO Corrie Coyle released a statement:

“Advantage Credit Union has a proud history of people helping people. How awesome is it that a small group of hardworking individuals started this credit union with the idea and a modest pool of savings? We thank our community and our members for being part of 75 years of success!”

The open house is from 9 a.m to 5 p.m.
