Clothing campaign winding down

Those with need cards asked to return them by Tuesday

With just weeks left until Christmas, employees from Newton Manufacturing presented items purchased for 38 local children through the Shoes That Fit charity to Noble All American on Thursday morning.

Each item purchased and donated — among them new boots, shoes, jeans and winter clothing items — will fulfill specific clothing needs requested by teachers who identified the needs of school-age children from local families in need of assistance.

Noble All American is one of two Newton businesses participating in the charity that is coordinated by OnMedia of MediaCom.

Noble All American and First National Bank participate by serving as a contact point where community residents can both pick up Shoes That Fit needs cards and drop off purchased items. Donated items are returned to Noble All American and First National Bank and then promptly delivered to students at Newton’s four elementary schools.

Those who still have cards are asked to return them with the item to either Noble All American or First National Bank by Tuesday, Dec. 11th.

“We still have cards available at both locations for any last-minute shoppers,” said Andy Schwandt of OnMedia. “There is still plenty of need, and we would love to see all the cards converted to items very soon.”
