Newton student featured in Christmas production

WAVERLY — Brady Van Sickle, a second-year Wartburg College student from Newton, will play young Ebenezer Scrooge in the Wartburg Community Symphony and Drama Department’s rendition of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Young Ebenezer is depicted as neglected by his peers and, it appears, his father, causing the young Scrooge to seem determined to live for himself as he ages.

The performance begins at 3 p.m. Sunday in Neumann Auditorium on the Wartburg College Campus in Waverly, Iowa.

Dr. Simon Estes, distinguished music professor, will help narrate the drama and lead the symphony and audience in singing “Joy to the World.”

Concert tickets, available at the door, are $15 for adults and $5 for students.
