Robert Kenneth “Bob” Doty, 56, of Mingo, died on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at his home. Services were held at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials in Bob’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Bob, the son of Kenneth E. and Marilyn (Maxwell) Doty, was born March 15, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa. Bob was a lifelong resident of Mingo and a graduate of Mingo High School in 1974.

Bob worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation as a work horse. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He also liked pulling pranks on people. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Those left to honor Bob’s memory include his son, Landon Doty (Melissa Clouse) of Mingo; his daughter, Lindsey Doty (Josh Danley) of Mingo; his three grandchildren, Jessen, Kylie and Lemi; Josh’s daughters, Lily and Emily; his mother, Marilyn Doty of Mingo; three brothers, Ed (Gena) Doty of Colfax, Randy Doty of Mingo and Kenneth Charles “KC” Cleveland of Honolulu, Hawaii; two sisters, Jodi (John) Maher of Newton and Rhonda (John) Milligan of Mingo; Andi Doty; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth E. Doty, and good friend and cousin, Dave Maxwell.
