Connie, the daughter of Orvin “Skinny” and Bernita (Randolph) Wearmouth, was born on Dec. 29, 1945, in Newton. She was a lifelong resident of Jasper County, living mostly in Kellogg. Connie graduated from Newton High School in 1964. She worked at Peck Daycare and then at DHS for more than 30 years, retiring in 2007. She served on the board for the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and was a member of the American Legion Post 355 Auxiliary for 23 years. Connie also volunteered countless hours delivering meals for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed traveling, going to flea markets, garage sales and the farmer’s market, spending time with family and friends and fishing. She always liked to have lunch with friends and take her grandson, Gage, to get ice cream.

Those left to honor Connie’s memory are her daughter, Jodi Taylor (Matt McBeth) of Roland; granddaughter, Amanda May Taylor (Nick Breckenridge) of Baxter; her great-grandson, Gage Lake; a great-granddaughter, Gracie Sue, on the way; her siblings, Deb White (Don Herink) of Roland, Scott (Terry) Wearmouth of Kellogg and Mike (Amy) Wearmouth of West Des Moines; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Mater. She was preceded in death by her parents.
