Class of 1972 supports arts, education in Newton

Representatives of the Newton Senior High School graduating class of 1972 recently presented a gift of $700 to the Centre for Arts & Artists.

The class’s reunion planning committee chose the CAA for its strong leadership to establish a vibrant culture of supporting the arts in all its forms; to develop local economic opportunities; and to provide and maintain a venue for art education in the community, including a high-level of arts appreciation.

“We are excited by this generous donation, which caught us totally by surprise,” said Linda Klepinger, executive director. “We are working to establish an artists’ cooperative gift shop at the CAA and this special gift will be enormously helpful in fulfilling our immediate future plans.”
