Janis K. Baltisberger, 65, of Newton, Iowa, died on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.  Interment will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the Smith Funeral Home and the family will be present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorials may be designated to the Janis K. Baltisberger Memorial Fund and mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.smithfhcom.

Janis is survived by her children, Ben (Paula) Baltisberger of Newton, Rebecca (Blake) Anderson of Keystone, Iowa, and Brian Baltisberger of Grinnell; seven grandchildren; and her siblings, Georgia VanRoekel of Montezuma, Iowa, Ruth Vanderhoof of Red Oak, Iowa, Chris (Rig) Nerhus of Fort Madison, Iowa, Linda (Chuck) Miller of DeWitt, Iowa, and Steven Suess of Des Moines, Iowa.
