Clarence ‘Hoot’ De Hoedt

Clarence “Hoot” De Hoedt, 71, of Newton died on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

Survivors include his wife, Jan of Newton; daughter, Karla (Bruce) Montgomery of Newton; three step sons, Rick (Julie) Scott of Hamlin, Randy (Kay) Scott of Tucson, Ariz., and Blane (Heather) Benesh of Grinnell; his nine grandchildren, Kristi, Scott, Samantha, Megan, Ryan, Logan, Hayden, Harper and Nile; great-grandson, Karsin; his two sisters, Gerdena (Merl) Brown of Kellogg, and Irene (Wilford) Roose of Pella; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Judy in 2005; two brothers, Gerald and Rich De Hoedt; and sister, Jacoba Walker.
