Clara Ann Breckenridge

Clara Ann Breckenridge, former resident of Colfax and Newton, died Nov. 19, 2012. 

She was born June 25, 1926, in Colfax, Iowa, to Ida Brown and Arthur Ellsworth and graduated from Colfax High School. She married Wayne Eugene Breckenridge on May 24, 1947 and they farmed near Newton.  In 1962, Wayne took a job as a salesman with the Vernon Company and they moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. At the time of her death she lived in Boise, Idaho, where she had spent the last nine months near her daughter, Connie Breckenridge.

She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Van Elsen of Newton, Iowa, and Rosa Lee Sutton of Des Moines, Iowa; a son, Bob of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Connie Breckenridge of Boise, Idaho and Ruth Patterson of Rapid City; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
