Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at the Main St. Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes. Interment will be at the Iowa Brethren Church Cemetery in rural Marshalltown.

Hazel was born Nov. 2, 1927. She was the second daughter of Thomas and Martha Hodges McWilliams. She attended her first three school years in Clemons. In 1936, her parents moved to their farm near Conrad, and she graduated from Conrad High School in 1945. She married Vernon Nason on July 24, 1949. She worked in the offices of Montgomery Ward Retail Stores for 15 years. In 1979, she and her husband purchased Dick’s Auto Supply and they worked together until Vernon’s serious illness in 1996.

She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the chancel choir, taught Sunday school, directed primary choir and served two terms as deacon. She was a lifetime member of the Iowa Historical Society. Hazel will be remembered as a good friend, a wonderful mother and a goofy grandmother. She was an inspiration to us all with her smiles, laughter and love.
