A fellow senior and trench mate, Russell also saw plenty of action on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he finished seventh on the team in tackles with 45, while also adding three tackles for loss. A highlight play in his season included an interception on a ball he tipped himself in the Tigerhawks’ loss to Van Meter.

Rounding out the selections was Alexander, another senior that had plenty of an impact on both sides of the ball. At linebacker, Alexander finished fourth on the team with 64 total tackles, including one for a loss and one interception. As a tight end, Alexander pulled in 153 yards and a touchdown through the air.

Joining Johnson on the academic all-district team were senior Stephen Lahart and juniors Brandon Byal and Keagan Smith.

After going 2-1 in nonconference play, the Tigerhawks finished the season 2-7 overall and 0-6 in district play.
