Newton Aktion Club cookbook available

The Newton Aktion Club has released a new cookbook titled “Cooking with Aktion.”

The cookbook features a collection of delicious recipes compiled from Newton and central Iowa community members. Cookbooks may be purchased for $8 each with proceeds benefitting the Newton Aktion Club. The club was formed in 2005 under the auspices of Kiwanis International, Newton Noon Kiwanis and Newton Golden K Club. Aktion Clubs are designed to give people with disabilities the opportunity to work with one another within a club that provides service to their community. Members gain experience in parliamentary procedure, working on committees, and giving back to the community where members live. The Newton Aktion Club has contributed over $5,000 to local organizations since its inception.
