Baxter Oil Company/Kountry Korner began renovations on Monday to install new fuel dispensers on the east island, according to an email from Bryan DeJong at the convenience store. One dispenser will produce flex fuels by blending ethanol and gasoline, and a diesel dispenser will allow customers to select a winter blend.

“We will bury a 12,000-gallon tank that will be divided with ethanol on one end and #1 biodiesel on the other end,” DeJong wrote. “These products will be piped to the new dispensers allowing the ability to select different fuel blends.”

Five products will be available on each dispenser for a total of 10 different blends, each with a pay-at-the-pump capability and 24 hour card service. Gasoline selections will include no lead, E-10, E-15, E-30 and E-85, and diesel selections will be #2 biodiesel, #1 biodiesel, 10 percent #1 with 90 percent #2, 25 percent #1 with 75 percent #2 and 50 percent #1 with 50 percent #2.

DeJong hopes the installation will be completed by the end of next week. In the meantime, the convenience store will continue to be open on the south island; however, the diesel pump will be closed for the duration of the project.

Baxter Oil Company/Kountry Korner is  a petroleum marketer in Baxter with a convenience store serving the local area, providing renewable fuels as well as a wide variety of convenience items including prepared food.
