McTeacher’s Nights at local restaurant support schools

McTeacher’s Nights took place during October from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on select nights at the Newton McDonald’s. All schools earned 20 percent of the restaurant’s sales during the time frame that the teachers worked. Left: Thomas Jefferson principal Lisa Sharp along with Marla Cory’s kindergarten class accept a $630.62 check from Ginny Blattert, McDonald’s owner/operator, for their evening, which was Tuesday, Oct. 16. Right: Berg Elementary School secretery Lesa Blatchford and BES student Vani Routier accept a $764.52 check earned during their evening on Thursday, Oct. 11. The school also collected $129.30 in tip money. Not pictured: Aurora Heights earned $736.41 for their evening on Thursday, Oct. 18.
