Newton Police Department

• Bryan C. Odem, 29, of Newton was arrested on a Polk County warrant at 10:38 p.m. Saturday at 702 E. 10th St. S. in Newton. During the arrest, police found a glass pipe in his front pocket. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Phillip J. Vanderburg II, 21, of Bondurant was arrested at 7:38 p.m. Sunday on a Polk County warrant for child endangerment after authorities stopped him in the 1200 block of Highway 14 South for a license plate violation. Police also found a baggie of marijuana in his pocket and charged him with possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
