At Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Jasper County Board of Supervisors, a revised Veterans Affairs Ordinance will be considered.

As has been previously reported, the county’s ordinance had not been updated in many years, technically making many veterans who have returned from war in the past decade ineligible for general assistance. An updated Veterans Affairs General Policy also has been drafted for the supervisors’ consideration.

The Jasper County Veterans Affairs Commission approved the changes at its Sept. 26 meeting.
