Newton to host ISDTA State Solo Competition

The Newton Community School District, along with the Newton Senior High School Pacesetters, will host the Iowa State Drill Team Solo Competition on Saturday.

More than 600 competitors from across the state will be competing solo dance and solo flag routines for a chance to gain a state title. The solo dance competition will tale place in the high school’s two gyms and auditorium beginning at 7:30 a.m. until approximately 3:30 p.m. The state solo flag competition will take place at the Berg Middle School from 7:30 to 12:30 p.m. There is a $5 entrance fee, and gifts, flowers and concessions will be available.
