Bible camp director endorses Halferty

There remains one week for Jasper County residents to determine which candidate will become the next Sheriff of Jasper County. My name is Danny DuRocher and as a former resident of Jasper County, I wanted to take an opportunity to encourage voters to select candidate John Halferty.

I graduated from ColfaxMingo High School and served as the Youth Pastor at the First Baptist Church in Colfax for 12 years. Jasper County continues to hold a special place in my life and thus my interest in the coming election. I have known John Halferty for nearly 20 years and I am confident that he is the best choice for this position.

John has demonstrated his commitment to Jasper County and his passion for serving people through his many areas of involvement both on a professional level and as a volunteer. He is invested in Jasper County and his dedication and perseverance benefits not only the department but also the entire county and the communities of Central Iowa through his commitment to protect and serve each resident.

His life and career have been devoted to providing a level of safety and security for Jasper County.

John has the knowledge and experience that is needed for a position of such responsibility. He is a professional in his field and is well respected by people of all ages, community members, coworkers, colleges and others in law enforcement from across the state.

John has worked tirelessly for Jasper County and it only makes sense to continue that professional relationship with him as your sheriff. In addition to his professional record and community involvement, I know, as a personal friend, that he is a man of great honor and integrity. He has strong morals and personal convictions that allow his faith to remain strong despite circumstances or opposition.
