Man killed in skid loader accident

REMSEN (AP) — Authorities say a 19-year-old northwest Iowa man has been killed while helping put in fence posts.

The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office says Alexander Renken died at the scene outside of Remsen on Saturday afternoon. A report says Renken was holding the posts while Andrew Vaske used a skid loader to push the posts into ground. There was extra dirt in the skid loader’s bucket, and the report says the extra weight caused the machine to tip forward. The report says the bucket struck Renken and pinned him to the ground.
