Mid-Prairie ends PCM’s playoff run with 24-7 win
The Prairie City-Monroe football team saw a common trend in its last few games of the season, and that trend continued in the first round of the postseason Wednesday night.
Although the Mustangs trailed by just two scores at halftime, 21-7, neither they nor Mid-Prairie (Wellman) got much going offensively in the second half and Mid-Prairie escaped with a 28-7 victory on their home turf.
Junior Blake McWilliams scored the Mustangs’ lone touchdown in the game to go along with 125 yards rushing and 45 receiving. Freshman Logan Gilman got the call at quarterback and finished with 170 yards and one interception. Senior Michael Neff was his primary target, catching five passes for 84 yards.
