To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to endorse Chief Deputy John Halferty for Sheriff of Jasper County. During my time as Chief of the Baxter Police Department, John has shown he is a man of honesty, integrity and accountability. John is a strong leader who has a personal and professional commitment to excellence as well as a strong moral compass, all necessary characteristics in serving the citizens of Jasper County.

John’s commitment to the people of Jasper County has been shown by his ability to increase cooperation between the various community organizations and departments, engaging the community in problem solving, and enhancing the satisfaction of those working in the Sheriff’s Office.
