Voter rights are being protected in Iowa
To the Editor:
“Voting is a right, not a privilege,” said Dennis Parrott, Jasper County Auditor and president of the Iowa Precinct Atlas County Association, when interviewed by members of the League of Women Voters.
While it is a privilege to travel by airplane, it is a right to vote. Both require identification, but not necessarily the same kind of identification. The Precinct Atlas Program, which is in place in Jasper County, provides secure identification of every registered voter. This technology is more accurate than a photo ID.
