L-S volleyball cruises into regional quarterfinals

The Lynnville-Sully volleyball team had no problem in its first postseason match Tuesday night, dominating winless Tri-County in Thornburg.

The Hawks (14-11) swept the Trojans (0-17) by scores of 25-4, 25-10 and 25-13 in a Class 1A Regional first round game, advancing to the quarterfinals. There, they’ll face fellow South Iowa Cedar League foe Brooklyn-Guernsey-Malcom (23-8), which swept Montezuma. The quarterfinal game will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Brooklyn.

The Bears swept Lynnville-Sully on Oct. 8.
