Police Blotter

• Jay E. Christy, 53, of Newton was charged with domestic assault serious Oct. 15 at 10:58 a.m. for an incident on Oct. 14 at 10; 49 p.m., when officers were called to 604 E. 27th St. S., in reference to a domestic assault. Christy allegedly jumped on the back of the victim and grabbed her left arm before leaving the premises. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Kristie K. Duckworth Blackburn was arrested on an Iowa City Police warrant for failure to appear in court for a show cause hearing after officers were called to 308 E. Eighth St. N. at 8:29 p.m. Monday in reference to a prowler. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Brody B. Fisher, 37, of Newton was charged with false report to communications and interference with official acts after authorities responded to a 911 call at 10:25 p.m. Thursday at 1200 W. 18th St. S. Fisher stated he was in fear for his life, but authorities did no observe any danger. Fisher called 911 several more times, including during transport to Skiff Medical Center. When he was charged with false report, he allegedly began fighting with and yelling at the officer. He was charged with interference with official acts for resisting arrest and transported to the Jasper County Jail.

• Travis L. Jones, 32, of Newton was charged with simple domestic assault after authorities responded to an altercation at 11:16 p.m. Thursday at 120 E. Fourth St. N. #1. Following an investigation, Jones was located at 318 E. 10th St. N. and charged for allegedly grabbing a 25-year-old Newton female’s arm and pushing her to the ground. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.

• Christy A. Nida, 30, of Newton was charged with driving with a suspended license when her vehicle was stopped at 8:54 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of West 11th Street North for expired license plates. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Erin M. Turner, 27, of Newton and Dustin H. Marshall, 25, of Flintville, Tenn., were charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief after officers were called to the 200 block of North Second Avenue West at 2:12 a.m. Sunday in reference to a fight in progress. Turner and Marshall were located later in the 200 block of South Second Avenue West. During the fight, a window at the Re/Max office was broken, resulting in an estimated $800 damage. Marshall’s blood alcohol level registered .210, and Turner refused a test. Turner received a cut on his head from the broken window and was taken to Skiff Medical Center for treatment. He turned himself into police on Monday to receive his charges.
