• Christopher A. Blackett, 26, of Newton was charged with simple domestic assault at 10:02 p.m. Friday for allegedly pushing and grabbing a female victim at 600 E. 12th St. N. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• A second person has been charged in the fire on Sept. 21 that damaged the house at 527 N. Fourth Ave. E. Following further investigation, Zachary D. Clark, 16, of Newton was charged Friday with second-degree arson and second-degree burglary in connection with the fire. Clark was referred to juvenile authorities.

• Edwin R. Dobbs, 22, of Newton was arrested at 11:40 p.m. Friday at 719 N. 15th Ave. W. on a Jasper County warrant for harassment. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Brody B. Fisher, 37, of Newton was charged with interference with official acts after officers were called to 1668 S. 15th Ave. W. at 1:32 p.m. Thursday following an incomplete 911 call from that address. Fisher threatened and shoved an officer while being arrested. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

The following day, Friday, officers were called to the Skiff Medical Center emergency room in reference to an unruly patient. Fisher fought with the officer and kicked the officer in the face. He was charged with interference with official acts, attempting to disarm an officer of a dangerous weapon and assault on a peace officer causing bodily injury. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Marlys R. Highland, 50, of Marshalltown was northbound in the 1200 block of Highway 14 South at 6:55 a.m. Saturday when her vehicle collided with one driven by Lonnie L. Lehman, 46, of Marshalltown. Highland was cited for driving with a suspended license, failure to obey traffic signal and no proof of insurance. Lehman also was cited for no proof of insurance. Damage was estimated at $2,000 to each vehicle. No injuries were reported.

• Janel L. Koon, 37, of Newton was cited for failure to yield half of the roadway after traveling north on East Fourth Street North at 8:59 a.m. Wednesday, turning left at North Fourth Avenue East and striking the front driver’s side of a vehicle driven by Amora A. Morehouse, 28, of Newton, who was stopped at the intersection. No one was injured. Authorities estimated the damage at $1,000 to Koon’s vehicle and $2,500 to Morehouse’s vehicle.
