Newton eighth grade volleyball finishes successful season

The 2012 Newton eighth grade grade volleyball team recently completed a successful season. The girls improved as a team from last season and each player had significant improvements as well. 

A big accomplishment was that the Cardinals beat all of the Little Hawkeye Conference teams. Newton ended up with an overall game record of 121-59. 

“These athletes worked hard and the future looks bright for the next four years,” said coach Eric Vander Velden. 

The team was coached by Vander Velden, Ashley Ryan and Steve Weeks.
