Agricultural grants available for interested Iowa FFA chapters

Iowa FFA chapters are encouraged to apply for nearly $15,000 in grants to conduct innovative activities that spur greater awareness and interest in agricultural and life sciences to the benefit of Iowa and the world.

The FFA Planting a Seed Grant Program is sponsored by DuPont Pioneer and Iowa Food & Family Project in cooperation with the Iowa FFA Foundation.

FFA chapters can apply by Dec. 7 for one of eight $1,500 grants to conduct programs that stimulate interest among K-12 students in agricultural careers while emphasizing the importance of science and technology to providing wholesome food using less land and water. Eligible activities include career fairs, educational trips to local agricultural production or renewable fuels facilities, class assemblies and creating innovative and engaging activities that promote the fields of opportunity available in agriculture.
