Teacher-coach endorses Halferty for Sheriff

To the editor:

As a Jasper County teacher and coach, I firmly believe investing whole-heartedly in our youth is of paramount importance. They are our most valuable resource, as well as our future. Without question, John Halferty realizes this — as evidenced through his leadership, professional experience, family values, morals, ethics and tireless volunteerism to his community.

John’s passion for our youth is reflected through his church involvement, tenure as a volunteer high school football coach, and in the course of nearly 25 years of decorated law enforcement service. It has been my distinct pleasure coaching alongside John, and I have seen firsthand his dedication as a peace officer, firefighter, coach, mentor, father and friend. Young people look up to and admire John. He is honest, friendly, fair, intelligent, hard-working, loyal, articulate and caring. Adults and peers mirror this respect.
