Wayne A. Ambroson

Wayne A Ambroson, 83, formerly of Leland, Iowa, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at his residence in Park Centre. 

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills, Iowa. He will be laid to rest at West Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Leland at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11. Memorials may be made tothe Jasper County Honor Flight. 

Wayne was born July 21, 1929, in rural Leland to Walterand Selma (Nordskog) Ambroson. He graduated from Forest City High School and served in the Marines during the Korean War. He married Clarine Peterson in 1953. Wayne owned and operated T-W Plumbing and Heating and did some farming on the side. He was a well-known electrician and plumber in Lake Mills and in the surrounding communities, where he served his customers for more than 50 years. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing and gun collecting. He loved flying and enjoyed many hours soaring the skies in his beloved airplane. Wayne loved music, especially the old hymns, and always enjoyed singing in church, where oftentimes he would sing solos while Clarine accompanied him on the piano or organ.
